Welcome back to the planet!
Your lucky jersey deserves a little sightseeing, too. What if the next away game became a whole weekend: a new city, something delicious for dinner, and plenty of cheering?
Make room for more than kickoff
Start with the event you really want to see. Confirm the date, venue and ticket options through the team or event’s official website before locking in the rest. Check cancellation terms, too, so you know where you have flexibility.
Then let’s find a hotel that works for the whole trip. Look at the route to the stadium, your dinner plans and how you’ll get back after the crowds pour out. A place that looks close on a map may still need a little transport planning.
Give yourself breathing room before game day, especially if you’re flying. Nobody wants the opening whistle to become the soundtrack to an airport sprint. Leave a little space for a neighborhood wander or a slow breakfast, too.
Spotlight On… Football across the pond
London offered a fun example this month: the Jaguars’ schedule paired Philadelphia at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 11 with Houston at Wembley on October 18. Two football weekends, two London landmarks. For a future trip, start with the official schedule, then build in time to explore.
Which team or sporting event would you travel for? Give me a shout—let’s turn your game-day wish list into a getaway.
See you next Saturday,
Rhonda ♡
